Ms. Brown is Coming!
Super Bowl 2012
So this Sunday is THE day when we get to see the Super Bowl XLVI. When the Super Bowl comes near we know the best advertisements of the year will be making it’s appearance. If you look at Adweek, you can see the previews for some of the commercials that will be appearing. (Let me just say, it’s very interesting and funny so go check it out!)
People Magazine (February 2012 issue)
Like I said in the previous post, I’m looking through People Magazine this week and another advertisement caught my attention. We all know and love M&M’s. They come in all shapes and sizes with varieties of colors. When we see advertisements for M&M we can tell that each color has its own character as well as personality. Well, guess what? They are adding another character to the collection. Ms. Brown. As shown in the print ad I have found, it says that Ms. Brown will be revealed at the Super Bowl XLVI this February 5th. I think this print advertisement was very successful because they show all the different characters with a character missing for one of the spotlights. It was an effective way to grab the attention of the audience because without reading any of the copy we can interpret that it is an advertisement for M&M’s. Also, the copy is very short and precise to the point.
M&M Print Ad
I checked out their Facebook page that shows a picture of how Ms. Brown will look like. It also says that she doesn’t accept just anyone. So we can guess that she will be some sort of teacher like character with a bit of a sex appeal as well as a temper. Also, if you check out their homepage, it says “she so smart it’s scary”. So we can conclude that she will be playing the brains in the characters.
I personally dislike chocolate but I love the characters of M&M because they all have their own identity. They made this chocolate candy come to real life by making each of them different from the other. I think it was a very successful advertisement for the brand and I’m very excited to meet Ms. Brown and her overall personality during the Super Bowl XLVI.
